The first Racing Dynamics product was introduced in the marketplace back in 1980, and it was a rear trunk spoiler for the recently introduced 3 Series [E21]. Throughout the years we have developed hundreds of products for almost every BMW model manufactured from that point on. Although it would be great to be able to offer all these components forever to our loyal and enthusiastic customers, the reality is that it is no longer a viable business to manufacture some of these parts. Whereas the value of these cars is getting smaller, the cost of producing these parts is constantly increasing, and in some cases it has become prohibitive. For example, the AeroKits of the late '80s were made of a PU-Rim material that is no longer available. If we injected these molds with what is available today, these parts would be too large, as the shrinkage of modern PU-RIM formulations is negligible. So, the only way to produce these parts today, would be to special order the material as it was made 15 years ago, which can be done, but it is expensive and we would need to purchase enough material to manufacture up to 100 AeroKits. This problem is not only relevant to AeroKits, but to wheels and suspension components as well, and any product that requires an industrial production with molds and tools. We have been facing the issue for years, and most of our competitors have just discontinued such parts. If you own an E30 3 Series and have recently tried to purchase a front spoiler from one of the top tuning houses, you will know what we mean. On the other hand, we recognize the need to support our customers with spare parts and |
replacement items, and we do have quite a few of these parts in stock, so we had to find a solution to this issue also. We have therefore decided to re-list all of our products for the older models, and make the parts that we have in stock available to our customers around the world. Furthermore, since Racing Dynamics still holds the molds to most of its products, we have will be listing the quantities needed to run a special production of discontinued parts. By doing this, we are offering the opportunity to special buyer groups, enthusiast clubs, or different BMW Owners' Cubs, to approach us about producing some of these parts for their members. Part Number tables in the Out of Production Models section with have a Status column that must be interpreted as follows: S = Stock Item (purchase as needed) S ## = Stock Item with ## on hand (purchase as needed until stock lasts) NLA = No longer available (cannot be remanufactured). NLA ### = No longer available, we need and order of ### to launch production. Exclusive = A special interest group has committed to production and they have an exclusive on this part. An e-mail link to the organization will be provided, so that you may contact them to inquire about availability.

The current links will point to older pages from our older site that may not have this info as of yet. As pages are updated to the current format, this information will be available. If you are interested in parts for your car, and they are listed as NLA, please do not organize a buying group through Racing Dynamics, as we do not have the resources to give you the proper service. Contact a forum on the web, or an enthusiast club for you particular BMW model and get them interested in joining in, then, once you have the required number, contact us to discuss the options. Even if you are driving an older model BMW, we understand that you are just as enthusiastic about your car as owners of current models. We hope that this program will give you the opportunity to either keep your current Racing Dynamics BMW looking 100%, or, if you do not have Racing Dynamics parts on your BMW, experience some of our products and become a loyal customer for the future.
